Lincoln Arts Institute will host Logan County Arts members for their annual Holiday Show and Shop. The show will open with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021.
For this event, the artists will present a variety of items suitable as distinctive gifts and holiday decor, including original paintings and photography with local and nature themes, handcrafted wooden boxes, glass blown ornaments, interior décor, and various holiday decorations and cards. According to gallerist Jason Hoffman, the holiday show has been very popular and well attended in the past. “When you purchase handmade art, the piece has the artists energy and heart in them, plus it helps support the arts.”
After the initial reception, The Lincoln Arts Institute Gallery will open on Fridays 5-8 p.m. and Saturdays 10-1 p.m. until December 18th. Any other requests for shoppers, people may call Jason Hoffman at 309-287-3744.

Christmas time is almost here and it is time to sign up for the 2021 Gingerbread House Display Contest! All entries will be displayed at the Lincoln Art Institute from December 10th – 18th. A People’s Choice Award will be given to whichever house receives the most votes. The community is invited to vote for their favorite on December 17th, 5pm-8pm, and December 18th, 10am-Noon at the Lincoln Art Institute at 112 S McLean St Lincoln, IL.
Houses will need to be dropped off at the Lincoln Art Institute on December 10th from 5pm-8pm or on December 11th from 10am-2pm. Houses will be available for pick-up on December 18th at 1pm. Any houses not picked up will be disposed of. Please construct your house on a sturdy base. Thank you!

A HOLIDAY HOMECOMING was released on Pure Flix on November 15. Gemelli films will be hosting their theatrical premiere at Lincoln College’s JC Mainstage Theater in Lincoln, IL in anticipation of creating the Central Illinois Film Hub. Take pictures in front of the step & repeat banner, meet some of the cast, walk the red carpet and watch a terrific family film to get you in the mood for Christmas.

A HOLIDAY HOMECOMING was written and directed by Candice “Candy” Cain, who has released 10 feature films since 2017. President of Gemelli Films, Candy currently has two television series in production, including one that films in Central Illinois! Join Candy for an open bar and appetizers after the film premiere.

Lincoln College Music Students are thrilled to be returning to the Lincoln Arts Institute to perform one of two final Fall 2021 Music Revue performances.
The Lincoln Art’s Institute will host performance (#1) on Wednesday, December 1, at 7:00 pm.
Performance (#2) will take place at the Johnston Center for Performing Arts at Lincoln College, 300 Keokuk, 7:00 pm.
Students blend story with pop and jazz standards alongside their very own original compositions.

Kids Recreational Art – 11/10 & 11/17
These two classes are an unstructured period in which students choose the medium and subject they work on each class. Students may choose to work independently or with others in a group while they create and may keep the projects they make. The focus of this course is to provide a regular artistic experience and space for participants to express themselves openly and creatively. Materials including paints/brushes, markers, crayons, colored pencils, papers, old magazines, scissors and more will be available to the class to utilize.
Paper Snowflake Wonderland – 12/1
Help the Lincoln Arts Institute prepare for winter by creating decorative paper snowflakes to be displayed throughout the building! Students will be taught how to create traditional fold and cut snowflakes with the freedom to pioneer their own designs. This class is a magical way to welcome winter and dazzle with decorations!

Sites 4 Soar Eyes is a selection from several series of works by artist Christopher Tice. Selections are taken from current and past series spanning 2019-2021. These works are all suggestive of place and share the same intuitive beginnings despite the final results varying in process and refinement. These works invite the viewer to discover these sites, bringing their own interpretations and stories and connect to the possibility of the images

The Lincoln Arts Institute presents a Logan County Arts group exhibition titled, “Textures and Tones.” The show will illustrate the wide variety of ways in which texture and tone are part of contemporary visual arts.
Join us for the opening reception on Thursday, October 14th from 5-8pm. The gallery is open every Friday evening from 5-8pm.
