LAI Member’s Opening Exhibition
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2022 AT 5 PM – 8 PM
The Lincoln Arts Institute welcomes the community back for the first show of the year with a member’s exhibition.
Join us for the opening reception of an open themed show on Thursday, February 10th from 5-8pm. The show will be up until March 5th and the gallery is open every Friday evening from 5-8pm and Saturdays 10am-1pm.
Included in the show will be the photo “Silver Lining” by Randy Washam which is pictured here.

Kids – Basics of Painting
Kids – Basics of Painting
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 12, 2022 AT 5 PM – 6 PM
Basics for Beginners: Color Wheel- Week 1. Learn how colors mix, match, and oppose with one another in this fun painting class. The purpose of this class is to learn the difference between primary and secondary colors, and how they relate to one another on the color wheel. Students will practice mixing and blending colored paints to create and discover new colors on their own.
Basics for Beginners: Paintbrush Practice – Week 2. Students will learn and practice the intended uses/techniques of various paintbrushes, in this hands-on class
Basics for Beginners: Color Gradient- week 3. This class is designed to maximize the mastery of blending paint colors on paper from light to dark, as well as primary colors to secondary colors. Students will watch as they transform colors by their own hands!
You can sign up for one class or the series of 3 classes. Go to Purchase a Pass at the top of the page. For one class, click on- “Drop In Kids Classes” and pay $12 or for all 3 in the series, get a discount and click on “Kids Series 3 classes” and pay $30.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2022 AT 6 PM
Explore various techniques and experiment with “accidental art” all in time for Valentine’s Day. Using a Valentine’s color palette, choose your technique for flowing paint onto your canvas. Take your masterpiece home as a new decoration for the Holiday or give as a gift. A brief introduction to abstract art and pour painting techniques followed by an open lab.
